About

Chris Cox is a creative director, storyteller, and self-described friendly creative cowboy, known for his cinematic visuals, colorful personality, and the rare ability to blend western charm with modern strategy. Based in Oklahoma City and deeply rooted in creativity, community, and color, Chris is the founder of The House Creates—a full-service production agency that works with brands across the country to deliver standout visuals, campaign direction, and content that actually connects.

Chris’s creative fingerprints are on collaborations with national brands like Pepsi, Call of Duty, and USDA, as well as dozens of restaurants, small businesses, and cultural institutions. His role stretches beyond creative direction—he’s a boots-on-the-ground problem solver and partner, bringing strategy, storytelling, and soul to everything from influencer campaigns to commercial shoots.

But Chris’s influence doesn’t stop at the agency. His personal brand, The Chris Cox, is where cinematic storytelling, product finds, photography, and curiosity collide. As a trusted Oklahoma City influencer, Chris highlights the best in local venues, restaurants, services, and creators—always with the goal of getting to know the people behind the work. Unlike many creators, he’s not just there for a tag or a discount code—he wants to hear your story and help tell it in a way that resonates.

And while he reps OKC with pride, Chris’s creativity is global. He’s a lifelong foodie whose appetite for storytelling has taken him from slurping pho in the streets of Vietnam to savoring queso Oaxaca straight from the source. Whether at home or on the road, his food content celebrates not just what’s on the plate, but the culture and craft behind it.

His creative inspiration is wildly nature-driven—from the backyard birds he feeds at dawn to the tiger that symbolizes his agency to the cardinal that reminds him of family. Nature shows up in his photography, in his custom merch and shop goods, and in the quiet way he notices the beauty around him. If it's packaged well (think: design-forward sodas, candy, or oddly perfect cans), you can bet he’s already got it in his fridge or studio.

Outside the spotlight, Chris lives at The Hilltop, a historically notable and beautifully restored home he shares with his wife Mary (a creative collaborator and steady force behind the scenes) and their very good boy, Indiana—a professionally trained Newfoundland-Poodle mix who is, no joke, available for brand deals.

Chris holds both an MBA and a BBA in marketing and has earned honors including NextGen Under 30, Forty Under 40, and multiple awards from Oklahoma City University. In 2020, he launched The House Helps, a nonprofit that raised over $83,000 in its first year to support displaced workers, social causes, and the arts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whether he’s highlighting a new OKC eatery, sharing gear he actually uses, or introducing the world to an indie product with a story—Chris brings honesty, artistry, and a whole lotta heart.
